Studying multiculturalism

Ksiegarnia Akademicka has published a book entitled “Studia nad wielokulturowością” [Studies of multiculturalism/cultural diversity] edited by Dorota Pietrzyk-Reeves and Malgorzata Kulakowska. The book was inspired by the conference “Questions of multiculturalism” organized by the Institute of Political Science and International Relations of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, in May 2009.

The Categories of ‘race’ and ‘ethnicity’

The article on the concepts of ‘race’ and ‘ethnicity’ treated from the transnational perspective is now available for download in the ‘articles‘ section of the website. It has been published in „Mozaiki Przestrzeni Transnarodowych. Teorie. Metody. Zjawiska” (Mosaics of the Transnational Spaces. Theories. Methods. Phenomena), edited by Lukasz Krzyzowski and Sylwia Urbanska. More on the book itself can be found on the website of its publisher, NOMOS.

“Different faces of Britishness” project

Different faces of Britishness is the name of the project realized within the British Council programme “Intercultural Navigators” in cooperation with Fundacja Nauczycielskiego Kolegium Jezykow Obcych of the Jagiellonian University. Information on the project is also available at the programme website – “Intercultural Navigators”

The project is composed of the research phase (focus groups) and the workshop, accompanied by the publication of the teaching resources.

We invite all the teachers of English language interested in learning how to join teaching language with teaching culture, to our workshop which will take place in British Council office in Krakow, on 12 June.
